It has become a tradition on Labor Day in Utah to welcome the world's premiere sheepdogs and their shepherds in Midway for the Soldier Hollow Classic, a sheepdog competition. If you haven't gone, this should be the year you give it a try. My family went when it was just a fledgling festival and were impressed then. All these years later it's turned into a full weekend of family festivities. And there are PLENTY of opportunities to turn the outing into an educational adventure.
First, of course, is the sheep herding, including 41 sheepherders from 6 different countries...
But there is SO much more! Our family favorite are the Splashdog Competitions...
Big and small dogs alike have fun stretching their best to be farthest in the splash pool. You can even enter your own spunky pet (click here for details)
Other dog events include a "flying" dog show and a puppy agility competition.
